Andrew Cruz Opens His 3rd Camp Franchise Location in Ontario Ranch, CA
The Camp Transformation Center has opened its newest franchise location in Ontario Ranch, CA. Over the holiday weekend we had a chance to catch up with the Owner, Andrew Cruz and ask him about his experience as a franchise owner. Why did you choose to franchise with The Camp? I chose to franchise with The Camp because I love that it is a purpose driven organization, the business model is phenomenal and the cost to get into the franchise is reasonable.
When did you open your first location? How does it feel to be a multi-unit owner? August of 2020, I acquired my first location, January 2021 I acquired my second location, and November 2021 I opened my third location. It feels amazing to have been able to go from one location to three in 14 months. Systems, processes, and leadership is crucial to managing a multi-unit franchise.
What do you like most about being a franchise owner? I love being part of the process of many people’s fitness journey. I have the opportunity to lead, train and develop my team to be better in multiple ways and overall calendar control of my time.
What was the most challenging part of opening your new location? Not knowing what to expect in the buildout process was the most challenging. If I were to do another buildout from scratch, I now have a much better understanding of what to expect and what can be done to reduce the turbulence. It is extremely rewarding to know that I built Ontario Ranch and there’s a deeper sense of appreciation with this facility.
What help does the support team provide that you found useful? The guidance of what needs to be done during the pre-opening launch as well as the training support for my staff. Sales training is critical, and I was fortunate to get the corporate sales team to conduct a few training sessions with my team on site as I bounced between my other 2 locations.
What advice would you give to a new franchise owner? Leadership, systems and understanding consultative sales will be the cornerstone to a successful franchise location.

These are 11 principles he has used successfully to guide him as a leader to his team. We highly recommend reading these as well as leadership is key to running a successful franchise location.
