The Camp Opens Another New Location in 2022
The Camp Transformation Center is proud to announce that we have opened another new location in 2022. The Camp Citrus Heights is now open for business making it our 8th new location this year and our first of many locations to come in Sacramento County, CA.
We had a chance to catch up with the new franchise owner Andre last week and ask him about his experience as a new owner and what wisdom he might share with other entrepreneurs thinking about starting their own Camp franchise.
Why did you choose to franchise with The Camp?
As a person who has struggled with my weight constantly fluctuating up and down, I found the camp to be a very successful program. As I researched franchising with The Camp a little more, I liked the business opportunities, along with the personal need to help people.
What do you like most about being a franchise owner?
The best part of franchise ownership is being able to put together a positive team with the same goal of helping others achieve a healthy lifestyle.
What scares you most about being a new business owner?
Failing my team.
What excites you the most about being a new business owner?
The opportunity to expand.
What was the most challenging part of opening your new location?
Dealing with local bureaucracy.
This is a common concern of many new franchise owners. It is important to work with your real estate team, architects, etc. to get your permitting and inspections accomplished in a timely manner.
What help does the support team provide that you found useful?
Helping with the system and speaking with people with experience.
At The Camp our entire support team has decades of experience in business, the health and fitness industry, and running a Camp. You can count on us to have encountered whatever situation you are facing and to provide real solutions based on actual experience.
What are your ambitions for the next 5 years as a franchise owner? (What do you hope to accomplish)
To expand in my local Market. I hope to be a multi-unit operator as I’ve seen many other franchise owners accomplish that in a relatively short amount of time. The business scales quickly and provides a lot of opportunities for the right entrepreneur.
What advice would you give to someone considering opening a franchise?
Do your Homework on local code changes, be your own CEO and know your business.
What advice would you give to a new franchise owner who just signed their agreement?
Know your agreement, this is a partnership and both parties should be involved in the conversations. You will not always be right, but neither will corporate. Make sure both sides are keeping an open mind, because business is always changing and so should you. As Bruce Lee once said “be like Water”
Anything else you think would be helpful for a new franchise owner?
Remember who the customer is. They aren’t always right but take time to care about their needs. They will reward you with more business if you understand this.
