The Camp & Fitness Trends of 2023

Welcome back for the final part of our ongoing blog series exploring the fitness trends of 2022 and 2023. Previously we explored how The Camp met consumer demand by incorporating many of the fitness trends from 2022 into our programming. In our last blog, we delved into the emerging fitness trends of 2023 and how The Camp once again is transforming our workouts to meet consumer needs by incorporating mobility, posture, and standing ab workouts into every class.

In this final part of our ongoing blog series, we will analyze how The Camp is focused on wellness and the addition of primal movements into our group exercise classes. Combining these practices into an exercise program can translate into a healthier you, beyond just pounds lost on a scale.

If you’re looking for a fun and effective way to boost your mental health, group exercise is a great option to consider. Studies show that regular physical activity can have a positive impact on mental health, helping to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, improve mood, and enhance cognitive function and memory. Joining a group exercise class can make it even more beneficial.

At The Camp, our group exercise classes offer a social and supportive environment, which can help to reduce stress and tension. It is a great way to increase self-esteem and self-confidence, providing a sense of accomplishment and purpose. Not only will you get a great workout, but you’ll also have the opportunity to meet new people and form connections. Having a sense of community and belonging can have a powerful effect on mental well-being. At The Camp, our AFF (Awesome Fit Family) promotes a rich culture of acceptance which can help to cope with symptoms of various mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, and PTSD.

With a variety of group exercise classes to choose from, there’s something for everyone, regardless of fitness level or experience.

Another new and exciting fitness trend is the addition of primal movements. Primal movements, also known as functional movements, are exercises that mimic natural human movements and are based on the way our bodies are designed to move. These exercises are designed to improve overall functional fitness and can provide numerous benefits, including improving balance and coordination, building full-body strength, enhancing flexibility, and reducing the risk of injury.

Participating in a group exercise class that focuses on primal movements can provide an added level of support and accountability. The class environment allows you to learn proper form and technique from a qualified instructor, and also, the social interaction and camaraderie with other participants can help to keep you motivated and engaged.

At The Camp, we focus on more than just losing pounds. Our overall goal is to make you the healthiest version of yourself. By training the body to move in a more natural and efficient way, primal movements can also help to improve athletic performance and functional fitness. Many primal movements involve a strong focus on the core muscles, which can help to improve stability and balance. So, don’t be afraid to try something new and give primal movements a chance in your next group exercise class.
