How The Camp TC Franchise Meets Current and Future Fitness Trends

The Camp Transformation Center had a phenomenally successful year in 2022. With multiple new locations opening across the US. We welcomed several new owners and had many existing owners open their 2nd, 3rd, or in some instances, 7th location. The Camp has a strong franchise system that allows our owners to scale quickly. In fact, almost 40% of our owners are multi-unit owners. How is this possible?  One reason for our success is that The Camp is able to meet consumer needs. Now that 2022 is over we can look back at the top 10 fitness trends from the previous year to better understand how The Camp was able to address those trends and continue the rapid growth from the previous year. The top trend in fitness for the past several years has been wearable technology. More and more consumers not only want to work out but they want analytical data that they can review about their workout and their effort. The Camp TC has partnered with MyZone, one of the largest wearable technology companies in the world. Now members can wear their MyZone to track their heart rate, calories burned, and more in real time. MyZone also provides monthly data to track consistency and provides benchmarking workouts to track gains in cardiovascular and muscular endurance.

The Camp recognized a while ago that technology would continue to play a role in fitness. We knew that it would be important to be able to connect with our members and provide workouts and guidance both in-person when members visited their location, or virtually. We invested heavily in creating our Camp OnDemand App which allows members to workout anywhere and stay connected with trainers, members, and other staff. This allows members to take their workouts on the road. Our personal training clients are able to workout at home, on vacation, outside, or whenever the opportunity arises in their busy lifestyle. In conjunction with MyZone members can track all of their workout data for review via The Camp On Demand App or in person on their next visit in the club. Thus, meeting the demand for outdoor workouts and online training.

Strength training has been a staple of The Camp TC programming for a long time. We recognize not only the importance of cardiovascular fitness but strength training too. By building lean muscle members will tone up, increase their resting metabolic rate, and reduce overall muscular soreness when they exert themselves in daily activities. A good muscular strength training program will not only build muscle, but it will increase members confidence and help with goal setting. Strength training is incorporated into many of our class workouts and members have the option to add on additional 1-on-1 training sessions or small group training sessions as well (known as elite training)

Our class workouts are specifically designed to help members lose weight through a combination of HIIT programing, strength training, and body resistance movements. All of our workouts are run by nationally certified trainers. This allows us to make movements easier or harder based on members’ fitness level or any movement restrictions they may have. Starting on Monday and going through Saturday our workouts shift daily from upper body to lower body, to total body throughout the week. Repeating this cycle twice and ending with a total body workout on Saturday. This set schedule lets our members know exactly what is in store for them each day. Our workouts consist of multiple stations. This HIIT format allows for short bursts of high effort with small rests in between each station. Stations consist of body weight movements and light weights. We also incorporate non-traditional boot camp style equipment such as kettlebells, battle ropes, sleds, and box jumps.

Lastly the fitness industry is making a huge transition to incorporate health and wellness coaching into its programming. The Camp began this year ago by offering our own supplement line, focusing on greens, collagen, and vegan proteins, along with vitamins and other supplements geared towards wellness. We also provide a support system to nurture our members, providing the much needed mental and emotional support to create real change and form lasting healthy habits. We help members address issues such as nutrition, rest, recovery, and sleep. The Camp also stresses the importance of mental health.

The Camp TC was able to capitalize on these 2022 trends as we were already positioned in the weight loss / body transformation space. We also knew the industry would trend toward wellness and were well positioned to meet the consumer demand that formed after COVID. Hence the reason for our rapidly growing franchise system.
