Franchise Owners Tell Us What They Like Most About Owning Their Own Camp Location

Here at The Camp Transformation Center we know that we are only as successful as our franchise owners. We rely on them to uphold our brand promise by empowering their local communities through health & fitness. We accomplish this through teamwork. There is a saying that coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress, and staying together is success.

At The Camp we strive to bring on like minded individuals with a passion for fitness and helping others. We recognize that it is our job to help our franchise owners learn the systems and skills that will allow them to run a successful Camp location. The longer and more invested our owners are the better they become at executing, until eventually they reach operational excellence.

We had a chance to catch up with several franchise owners and hear directly from them what they like most about running their own franchise and how they’ve managed to have great success. Check out their responses below.

Brittany Chico Owner The Camp Corona – Talk about guts Brittany took over an existing club that was underperforming. As she explains “It was pretty scary…opening in June in the middle of a pandemic.” However, Brittany and her team were quickly able to turn the sales around by ensuring that all staff began following the proper procedures for daily operations. The success was apparent when 4 months later they had increased sales by 250%. When asked what was one key factor to their success Brittany didn’t hesitate when she responded “You gotta work your gym sales.” Gym sales is the CRM that The Camp TC uses to connect with potential new clients and set them up for trial workouts.

Arnaldo Vasquez Owner The Camp San Dimas – Arnaldo has been with The Camp for approximately 7 years and has the honor of being a franchise owner 4. When asked what he enjoyed most about being a franchise owner he didn’t hesitate to answer “The people, the community, being able to engage with a lot of our clients. Watch our clients grow, watch them get more confidence, get more energy, and just their overall (fitness) journey.” At The Camp we pride ourselves on creating real change for our clients. We’ve created specific touchpoints throughout their journey that inspire them, support them, and create hope for a healthier lifestyle.

Erick Salgado Owner The Camp Riverside – Erick was the very 1st franchise owner with The Camp. When asked why entrepreneurs should consider franchising with The Camp he said “The Camp’s business model is simple, effective… we strive to use the culture … to help clients stay motivated & focused.” At The Camp when we developed our business model we understood from the get go that people who are truly undergoing a transformation, losing 20, 40, 60 pounds or more would need accountability, guidance, and support. Erick went on to say “Once you have the right mindset in your team and with the clients it grows and grows and grows as long as you nurture it.” Reinforcing the importance of creating a culture with fun workouts, where everyone feels accepted, and like they are being given the tools to create lasting change. Erick believes that this, people first, approach has not only led to his location’s success but the brand’s overall success as well.

Gia Smith Owner of 8 Locations – Gia who originally started with The Camp as a member of our Modesto location has been a franchise owner since 2018. As a registered nurse she understood the need for weightloss and the importance that it plays in an individual’s overall health. After completing a 6 week challenge Gia saw first hand that “it was a healthy way for people to lose weight…the vibe and community setting makes people want to stay and I wanted to be a part of that.”

Lesley Conover Owner of Camp Monterey and Camp Salinas- The Camp Monterey opened in 2017 and Salinas Opened September of last year during the pandemic, however, it sounds like Lesley is just getting started as she said she is “Thinking about opening another one in this area…coming up soon” When asked what she loves about The Camp Lesley said “The community, I had a career for 19 years before this and I never felt the welcoming and fulfillment that I have owning a Camp.” She continued by saying “I absolutely love The Camp, it’s the place to be.”

At The Camp we believe that fitness is our product and that people are our business. As a franchise owner we give you a proven business model and the necessary training and tools to run a successful Camp. At the end of the day your location’s success will depend on how involved you are with the day to day operations and how closely you and your team follow the established systems.
