New Franchise Owner Crystal Hernandez Takes Over Existing Camp Location, Adds Second Location Immediately
The Camp Transformation Center is one of the hottest franchise opportunities in the US. As we continue to grow we are constantly adding new franchise owners into our AFF (Amazing Fit Fam). Most recently we welcomed Crystal and her husband Luis as our newest owners. Crystal started as a member, fell in love with the brand and decided ownership was the next step. We had a chance to sit down and chat with Crystal who initially became a franchise owner by taking over the Peoria, AZ location. As you’ll hear she quickly decided that the next step was to become a multi-unit owner and added a second location by securing the territory in Elk Grove, CA.
Why did you choose to franchise with The Camp?
Luis and I started a 21 day detox challenge in 2019 at our home Camp in Manteca, Ca. On my first day at the Camp I fell in love with the atmosphere and the workouts. We both completed multiple challenges. I lost a total of 74lbs, Luis lost a total of 52lbs. It was always so much fun, I made every excuse possible to be at the Camp, doing doubles, elite classes, accountability challenges, you name it I was there. I was asked by the owners Gia and Kelly if I wanted to be a volunteer hardbody coordinator soon after I took a position as a front desk staff and knew right away that I wanted to open up a Camp.
When did you open your first location? How does it feel to be a multi-unit owner?
We partnered with Gia and Kelly to take over Peoria Arizona on July 15, 2021 and our brand new location in Elk Grove is expected to open January 2022.
What do you like most about being a franchise owner?
I love being a part of The Camp and everything that it stands for. It is rewarding to me to be able to build a strong team to provide the Camp Culture to our AFF, and transform them not just physically but also mentally.
What was the most challenging part of opening your new location?
Taking over Peoria was a challenge because the staff and AFF had lost the Camp Culture. We knew Peoria had a ton of potential but there was a lot of negativity, lack of structure and owner presence. It has taken some time to try and build the team and have them see the vision that we see. We are definitely seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, the staff is excited for our vision and the AFF can now see and feel the difference.
What help does the support team provide that you found useful?
Danielle, Gino, Ron and Emma TC have been so helpful to us with everything that we were taught in our corporate training. I learned so much from each of them that I was able to bring back to strengthen my team in Arizona and create it in Elk Grove. Danielle will be working with my team more closely with sales support calls. Catia has also been super helpful with answering any questions that we as new business owners had.
Anything else you want to add? Or anyone you want to thank?
Gia and Kelly have been invaluable to me during my entire journey with The Camp. From my orientation with Gia when I signed up for my first 21 day challenge, to now partnering with two such powerful and strong business women. They have both taught me so much and I am looking forward to watching our Camps grow together CLICK HERE to learn more about franchise with THE CAMP
